How to hotspot iPhone to laptop? #

With the iPhone’s built-in hotspot feature, you can easily share your mobile internet connection with other devices, including laptops. This guide will walk you through enabling the iPhone hotspot and connecting to it via Wi-Fi on your laptop, ensuring you stay connected wherever you go.

Step 1: Enable Personal Hotspot on iPhone  #

  1. Open Settings on your iPhone.
  2. Tap Personal Hotspot. (If you don’t see this option, tap Cellular, then select Personal Hotspot.)
  3. Toggle Allow Others to Join to the On position.
  4. You’ll see the Wi-Fi Password for your hotspot. Make a note of this password, as you’ll need it to connect your laptop.
    • Optional: Tap Wi-Fi Password to change it if needed. Create a strong, memorable password for security.

Step 2: Connect to the iPhone Hotspot from a Laptop (Wi-Fi)  #

  1. On your laptop, open your Wi-Fi settings:
    • Windows: Click the Wi-Fi icon in the bottom-right of your screen.
    • Mac: Click the Wi-Fi icon in the top-right of your screen.
  2. In the list of available networks, select your iPhone’s name. This will display as the name of your device.
  3. Enter the Wi-Fi password you noted from the iPhone and click Connect.
  4. Once connected, you should now have internet access on your laptop via your iPhone’s hotspot.

Step 3: Manage and Disconnect the Hotspot #

  • To disconnect, return to Settings > Personal Hotspot on your iPhone and toggle Allow Others to Join to Off.
  • You can also disconnect by turning off Wi-Fi on your laptop or selecting another network.
