Allow or Deny Write Access to Removable Drives not Protected by BitLocker in Windows

  • Fix via Group policy
    1. Computer Configuration\Administrative Templates\Windows Components\BitLocker Drive Encryption\Removable Data Drives
    2. In Removable Data Drives, double click on the Deny write access to removable drives not protected by BitLocker policy to edit it
    3. Change value to Disabled or Not Configured
  • Via Local registry editor
    • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Policies\Microsoft\FVE
    • Change value of both RDV to 0
